Projects

The Glendale Trust is working to develop and deliver projects based on the Glendale Community Survey Report which was carried out in 2011. This independent survey listed a significant number of priorities as identified by the local community which then formed the basis of the Glendale Growth Plan 1st Edition.

Having secured the funding for the provision of a Local Development Officer through Highlands and Islands Enterprise’s Community Account Management program the role of the project officer is to develop, organise and deliver these projects on behalf of the community of Glendale.

It is important that all projects undertaken by the Glendale Trust are financially sustainable and all can demonstrate majority community support.

All the projects follow a fixed process to ensure not only majority community support but that they meet the requirements of the various funding organisations details of how the projects are selected and developed can be found here – Project selection and development process

The Trust welcomes support and ideas from the whole community for any project we are always looking for volunteers to help deliver our projects.

The current projects being undertaken by the Glendale Trust are –

  • The Meanish Pier Project
  • Dun Colbost Excavation
  • The Borrodale School Project
  • The Glendale Transport Project
  • Affordable Housing
  • The Glendale Farmers Market Project
  • IT and Broadband Education Project

Our Next Generation Broadband Project has grown into North Skye Broadband and more information can be found here
